FAQ

1.) What is ETEN?

ETEN (pronounced as E10) or Educomp Tele Education Network is an initiative from IndiaCan Education Pvt. Ltd. (A JV between Educomp & Pearson) offering LIVE coaching to students sitting at centers across India.

2.) What is satellite based classes?

Satellite based classes are network of virtual classrooms connected via VSAT network where faculty teaches from central studio.

3.) How are ETEN Satellite classes different from other VSAT based systems?

a.)	ETEN system is based on XC satellite band, while most other systems are based on KU-band which suffers from rain-degradation.
b.)	Studio transmissions are at high bandwidth rates of approx 1000 Kbps, while other systems are at 1/3rd of this rate. This leads to Superior audio and video quality. The classes are projected on bright and big (80-100 inch) screens with Stereo-clarity sound.
c.)	ETEN system is two-way interactive for voice, video and data, wherein several classes are visible in full clarity to the Faculty at the same time. The Faculty can zoom into any classroom and see the students clearly, and talk to them.
d.)	Each Center has two additional voice lines which can be used by Center/Students to communicate the studio or Faculty.
e.)	Through the Smart Assessment System Student's attendance, MCQ-response and text messages reach the Faculty instantly.

4.) Are these classes like movie?

The classes are held LIVE and you can interact with the faculty as in any face to face classes.

5.) How is the Classroom setup?

All centers have Air conditioned classrooms with large screen, comfortable seating/ambient lighting and quality audio setup.

6.) What is video Archive?

Video archive is recorded file of LIVE classes.

7.) How will I get info about the change in schedule or info about extra classes?

You will be regularly updated through SMS on all issues related to the course. Periodic mail communication will also be sent out at the Mal ID provided by you. The Center Coordinators will be fully updated on all ongoing and updates. It will also be updated on our website. You can always contact our Toll free number for any assistance.

8.) What is the Fee Schedule?

A token Registration fee can be paid to secure the Seat. Seats are limited at each Center. Balance fee has to be paid at the time of joining the course or shortly thereafter as per guidelines.

9.) What is VAO ?

Though ETEN CA is rapidly expanding its reach and penetration, there are still many areas and student clusters which are beyond its reach. These students do not have any means or access to regular classes and therefore can be served only through public domain access such as Internet. Moreover their support requirements are distinct from that of regular students and merit a differentiated treatment. In pursuance of creating equity and access to all CA students, ETEN is releasing a separate product: VAO (Video Archive Only). Through this product students can access stored faculty lessons through Internet.

10.) For Whom it is targeted?

This facility is projected to provide those students, who do-not or cannot avail access to ETEN's ALC (Authorized learning centers). It is also available to students having special needs (such as constraints or travel or physical handicaps etc).

11.) What are VAO facilities?

After registration for VAO, 120% views, based on the estimated number of subject-sessions, progressively released to student's login ID. However all unutilized views shall lapse upon the cessation of ongoing batch, and will not be carried forward to declared attempt. Books and notes shall be sent directly to student's address. Periodically released notes and slides etc shall be emailed directly to the student. The student should have their own facility to take printouts. E-tutoring or audio conferencing sessions for special doubt clearing sessions by Faculty or Academic Support Group as may be scheduled from time to time. Student needs to install specified equipment (webcam etc) for the same.

12.) Can the faculty see & hear the students?

Yes, the Faculty can constantly monitor students sitting in the class throughout the session. The Central control room is constantly viewing all classes, and recording class movement.

13.) How will students ask query from faculty?

Students can ask query during the class using cordless Mic provided in the center. Instant-Chat option is used by students to send their comments and receive response. They can also use it to request live query- like in the normal class. The querying student's audio and video is also visible to all classes, so that they can hear and see the query, and benefit from it.

14.) What is SAS?

SAS – Smart Assessment System – application interface used for communication between faculty and students. It is also used for online MCQ tests, attendance and several other applications.

15.) How BMA is used?

The student BMA is used for marking individual attendance and answering MCQ during the class.

16.) Are there regular assessment test & mock test?

Yes, there are regular tests and assessments.

17.) Can students get to meet the faculty?

Yes, periodical faculty visits are scheduled for personal interaction with students.

18.) Can students contact the faculty after the classes for any query?

Faculty will provide information about their accessibility during the sessions. Queries can be sent on mail or through the class coordinator to the Faculty coordinator who can schedule one-on-one sessions or get the query responded to.

19.) How to register for Video archive? Is video archive available for unlimited views? Can it be downloaded?

Students will automatically get access to video archive once they enroll and pay full fee. For security reasons there is a limit on number of views and it can't be downloaded.

20.) Will students be provided with study material and notes?

Yes, they are included in the course fee or are available on nominal charges.

21.) Can I attend LIVE demo classes before registering?

Yes. You can attend LIVE demo classes at your nearest center. Please coordinate with your Center manager.

22.) What is the procedure for registration?

You have to visit the nearest center of your choice and enroll for the course by paying registration amount. You can also send an Enquiry at the ETEN Web site and the Center representative will get in touch with you.

23.) Will I get any discount if I take two or more subjects?

There are different discount offers, please refer to the schedule and course fee list. Please contact your Center.

24.) Is there any referral program?

25.) Is there any Scholarship program?

Please contact your Center. Scholarships are available for needy and deserving candidates.

26.) Is there any minimum attendance requirement?

There is a minimum attendance limit fixed in order to maintain discipline. Archive Access is limited accordingly.

27.) How many students have availed of ETEN? Are they satisfied?

I am a Girl, travel to a big city is always risky and time consuming.	I am close of my residence. It is my city. I am comfortable here. I also know all the students and make friends with them. Our networking will help me in the long run when I become a CA.
I have to come down from my hometown to Delhi to get the coaching from best faculty.	I attend the lectures from same/Better faculty at a center near to my house in my hometown.
My coaching fees are costly in Metro.	My coaching fees are lesser compared to Metro fees.
It is difficult and uncertain to get admission in the class as the seats are limited.	Centers are equipped with multiple classrooms, with Flexibility of expansion. I am assured of a seat.
I often have to shuttle between Coaching centers, frequently located at far-off locations as different subjects are not available in the same institute. Coaching schedules also clash, and it is difficult to keep pace. In addition my Articleship commitments also add to my stress and I am unable to really benefit from my classes.	I am happy that leading faculty for all the subjects are available under one roof, I just need to do one registration . Schedules are predefined, with no clashing. I can get retransmission classes if there is an unavoidable clash. I am able to conveniently do my Articleship along with my study commitments.
I often get late to the class and have to settle for a seat in the last row. Due to this I am not able to understand the class properly.	Due to small size of class, my seat is reserved even if I am late.
If I am absent in any of the classes, it becomes difficult to understand the next class as it breaks the continuity. I also have to travel for Audit assignments. I also missed my classes for B.Com and other exams.	If I miss the class for any reason, I just login and get access to the same class from archives. This helps me understand the topic better as it maintains the continuity. I can also revise the classes closer to my exams. I can access my classes even on travel or on audit assignment. I am able to catch up on my classes from Home. It is easy and convenient..
Due to large number of students, I am not able to interact or ask any query to the faculty.	I have to just pick up the cordless Mic or use chat system to ask query during the class .
Being a big class, I often get disturbed due to noise in the class. Also the view and audio quality is not very clear.	As the classroom is small with good audio quality, I can comfortably listen to the faculty teaching.
In my class seats are cramped and I find it difficult to write down my notes as there is no support arm on the seat and even the lighting is poor.	My center has very comfortable seating, ambient lighting. The chairs are designed for me to write down notes conveniently.
Text books are either not available or at an extra cost. The quality is also poor.	Course material books are included in the fee, which is quite affordable.
I spend approx 10000/- per month at the Hostel in Delhi. The food quality is poor and rooms are cramped. The environment is also not good.	I have the flexibility of home food, home environment. I am able to study and prepare better, which increase my chances of succeeding at exams. I am happy to be at Home, safe and secure. I save over Rs. 1,00,000 per year with ETEN CA. Money saved is money earned. I feel my parent's hard-earned money is well-spent with ETEN.
